Clamping and positioning screws are similar to set screws, but have a movable tip on one end. The tip can be flat or ball shaped and is meant to swivel or tilt to provide good pressure on uneven surfaces. They are also called ball end clamping screws, swivel pads and swivel-tip set screws.
