Masonry and tile cutting hole saws have an abrasive grit rim for cutting cement block, tile, fiberglass, and other abrasive materials. Hole saws cut a ring of material out of the workpiece. This speeds drilling and allows larger holes to be drilled using a handheld power drill than would be possible using a drill bit.
